Not "managing" the sin which so easily entangles us (NASB) flows out of fixing our eyes on Jesus. We aren't looking at our feet to keep from tripping, are eyes are lifted up, with our posture open and straight. Only Jesus pulls our feet from the snare of sin. "My eyes are ever on the LORD, for only he will release my feet from the snare." (Psalm 25:15)

Thanks for this one, David. I find that it is often only after, by God’s grace and mercy, that I have been dragged kicking and screaming out of “managed’ sins that I can see how deeply I had been deceiving myself. Maturing in faith for me often involves evaluating my current habits and patterns through the lens of those past deceptions.

Excellent post David. I think after a long ministry praying daily to walk in the light it is the excess weight (baggage) that I have tried to carry that is the biggest issue. Thanks for this one.

One of the keys is to be aware of our sins. If I am not repenting of sin multiple times a day, it isn't because I'm not sinning...it's because I am not AWARE that I am sinning. We must be viligent and humble and petitent at all times or we will fall into the snares of the crafty devil.
