Friends,
I’m wiped out. “Dead” seems like an approximate word. I got sick a few days ago as I sprinted across the finishing line of John 14 and the completion and publication of Way Truth Life.
(If you bought a copy of WTL in the first days, read below.)
So I’ve been quiet the past few days. Catching my breath. Sleep feels good.
Glowing Words
I’ve come away with a deeper awe for Scripture itself. Think about it: the Bible just sits there on the desk or the nightstand, closed. But when you open it and stare into it—not reading between the lines, but behind them—it starts to glow.
The words light up. And suddenly the love of Christ shines through in a way that almost knocks the breath out of you.
Didn’t that happen for you?
I’m thankful the work didn’t vanish into the air. It became a book—Way, Truth, Life
This book is something I can return to; something I can put into the hands of others. We’ve sold about a hundred copies so far.
If you walked through John 14 with me, I hope you’ll pick one up. Not just to refresh your memory, but to give away. To let someone else see what happens when you take Scripture one verse at a time.
If you enjoyed the series, you’ll love the book. Please pick up your copy today. Amazon is waiting for you now.
Please, please, please…
Leave an Honest Review
And if you’re one of those hundred, could I ask a favor? Leave a review. Not flowery words, not applause. Just honest. Tell others what the book meant to you—what it was like to receive those reflections daily, to walk slowly through John 14, and how it touched your faith. For a writer, that’s the highest compliment.
Next up, a new series. Not as intense—only twice a week—but just as thoughtful. We’ll take our time, linger over the text, and press it down into everyday life.
Is it worth $8 a month? So far, 421 people say yes! Join them.
Early Copies of WTL: If you bought a copy of Way Truth Life in the early days, you might have received one that begins with the table of contents and not a title page. That is not Amazon’s fault. That’s mine. I’m embarrassed to say it.
You can either do one of two things.
If you want to keep the copy you have, it might become a collector’s item in future years, like a double-struck penny. So hold on to it. None of the content is missing.
Or, if you want a corrected copy, please send me your mailing address, and I’ll mail you from my stock.
I am grateful for every reader. Every one.
In Christ,
P.S. Here’s where we’re headed: The Book of Ruth. Only four chapters, but brimming with the kind of wisdom you can actually live.
Not lofty ideas, but virtues in human form—loyalty, courage, generosity, integrity, humility, hope. Ruth’s not about kings or prophets, but about ordinary people making faithful choices in the fields, at the city gate, around the table. And through those choices, God does extraordinary things.
I will refer to my book “The Ordinary Ways of God”. All paid subscribers will receive a free PDF of the book. However, you can count on the next series to be a similar Bible Study, a deep dive, and a reading behind the lines approach. Upgrade your subscription here.
The Anglican is the Substack newsletter for LeaderWorks, where I share insights, encouragement, and practical tools for clergy and lay Christians. I’m also an author of over a dozen books available on Amazon.

The daily walk through John 14 was very inspirational and uplifting. I looked forward to read what the next day held for me. Thank you for keeping us in His Word. I have ordered the book.
