You Know About "The Last Supper". Do You Know About "The First Breakfast"?
Come Walk the Footsteps of Jesus with Host David Roseberry

Nestled on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee lies one of the most serene and sacred places in the Holy Land—Mensa Christi, or The Table of Christ. It is a place of quiet beauty, where the Risen Christ shared the “First Breakfast” with seven of His disciples. The story is told in John 21.
After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to seven of His disciples on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. They had fished all night without success, but at Jesus’ instruction, they cast their nets again and hauled in a miraculous catch. On the shore, Jesus had prepared a fire with fish and bread, inviting them to “Come and have breakfast” (John 21:12), and there, He restored Peter with a powerful exchange of love and forgiveness.
Every visit, I read the story of Peter’s restoration at the charcoal fire.
My first visit to Mensa Christi was in 1994, and I remember my guide calling it the “Church of the Charcoals,” after the fire Jesus built that early morning.
Though I have never heard anyone else call it that, the name has always stuck with me, a reminder of warmth, forgiveness, and new beginnings.
I invite you to experience it for yourself. Join us on our pilgrimage to Israel in January 2026, where you’ll see this place with your own eyes and perhaps, like so many before you, find a moment of personal restoration and renewal.
