Interesting quandary about the different worship styles. I might’ve been one of those old cuds that wanted to stick to traditional worship. But I also remember when I was quite a bit younger, that was not my style. It is interesting and heartening that today a lot of the Gen Z people like traditional worship, too.

Yes. Remember, this was fifteen years ago. We settled into a blend. We had a magnificent organ which is used all the time, and a vocal team. Josh moved to Phoenix after a year or so.

It is a blended music service now. I think it is working well.

Glad to hear you are using the organ more. I loved it when I've visited years ago but thought you weren't using it enough. :)

The type of music is adiaphorous-a solid Anglican concept. Scripture and the Eucharistic rite are not. The distinction needs taught to the people!

Another great story--filled with walking in tensions, not always either/or but both/and. So many things that took time and reflection to grasp, so many relationships...

This line stood out among many: "I believed then—and I still do—that conviction must walk hand in hand with compassion."

Yes! I've rarely seen conviction and compassion together. With humans, it tends to be one or the other, but with God, all things are possible!

My gen, Millennials, need too quit being obsessed with starting out own thing and honour what has been passed down. Quite frankly, Millennials at large are Baby-Boomer Generation 2.0 since more of us cannot loosen our death-grip on atomised individualism. That's WORSE!
